One day, while getting my haircut at my local barbershop - Loyal Sons in Downtown Des Moines - my barber Jay asked me if I'd be interesting in bartering an illustration commission with him to help promote his shop.
Jay wanted to combine the iconic morphing device from "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" with a portrait of the shop's bulldog mascot, Agnes.
Who am I to refuse a man with scissors next to my head?
Using Procreate on my iPad Pro, I drew Agnes' portrait with my Apple Pencil and then combined it with an image trace of the Power Rangers' morphing device in Adobe Illustrator. I'm particularly pleased with the three-dimensional look of the piece.
